In the first original three movies (IV, V, and VI) only 8 characters even touch a lightsaber. Name them, and for the unobvious ones, tell me when they touched it.

2.Han Solo(Opening the carcas of a dead tauntaun to give shelter to luke during the harsh blizzard on Hoth;EpV)
3.Luke(In Ben's Hut,Vader Vs.Luke duels,and during the execution on Jabba's Sail Barge.Luke changes his lightsaber once from blue to green;Episodes V,VI)
4.Imperial(When luke is captured on Endor.He gives it to vader;EPVI)
5.R2D2(During the execution of Han,Luke,and Chewbaccaon Jabba's Sail barge.R2 throws it out of one of his compartments;EpVI
6.Ewok(During the offering for their"God"C-3PO.An ewok takes it away from luke,EpVi)
7.Emperor (Given by Vader.The Emperor coaxes Luke to give in to his anger and strike him down,instead he uses it againts his father and resists the dark side,EpVI)
8.Vader(Used againts duels with Ben and luke.Vader also touches luke's saber and ignites it on Endor.Episodes IV,V,and VI)

Luke Skywalker, Obi Wan Kenobi, Darth Vader, Han Solo (on Hoth, he slits open an ice creature), Emperor Palpatine (in the throne room, Return of the Jedi), R2 D2 (launches it from his domed head on Jabba's barge), an imperial officer (on Endor, when Luke turns himself in), an Ewok (disarms Luke and his friends when they fall into the trap). Amazingly, Yoda doesn't even come near a lightsaber in the original trilogy.

2 Obi Wan-multiple times in episode IV
3 Han Solo-to cut open the tantan.
4 R2-D2-stored in him while at jabas palace
5 Vader-all over the place
6 Emporer-lukes lightsaber while it was on his chair on the death star
7 Imperial commander-on endor when turning luke over to vader
8 One of the leader ewoks-while they were preparing to cook han, luke and chewie
I asume these are the eight you wanted, though if you want to be technical the alien in mos eisley, a wampa, and a bunch of people on Jabas barge alos touched a lightsaber, it was the blade but it was still a lightsaber.

Han (to cut open a Tauntaun), The Emperor (when Luke was his prisoner on the Death Star), Ben Kenobi, Luke, Vader, an Imperial Officer (when turning in Luke over to Vader), R2-D2 (on Jabba's sail barge), and an Ewok (when getting ready to cook Luke and his friends). I don't know the others unless you count all the guys that got killed by them.
