I have a boyfriend who i love very much. When we first started going out he said something "rude" while i was on the phone with my dad. So from then on out my dad does not like him. I took him to meet my family in Georgia and my brother automatically doesnt like him because he's my bf. So he goes inside saying a bunch so now my family doesnt like him. But the thing is I dont care. And my dad told me it was ****** up that i dont. Do you think it is? I really like him and i understand they dont but why should i have to please everyone when i wont be happy?

Yes that is wrong that you don't care....Blood is thicker than water. If your bf is rude to your family that doesn't say much about his character. What happens when he is rude to you?? Don't say he won't if he is ALREADY saying rude things to your family hom much longer are you gonna wait to say anything about it.

I was with a man that my family didn't like for three years, I was crazy in love with that guy. I was 23, after those three years I realized he was not the right one for me.
I remember yelling at my mother,defending him, now I see my family was right from the beginning.
This doesn't mean you should break up, NO WAY, stay with him as long as you want and enjoy, if there is really something to enjoy.
But, believe me, your parents want the best for you, and if they don't like him, it's because they think he won't make you happy.
Sometimes parents are wiser than we think.
And by the way, if he has no f**** self control, to at least behave with respect in front of your parents, he does not respect YOU either.

I say as long as your happy who cares, but I wouldn't let it go as far as the family disowning me or anything. Did you try letting them all get to know each other. Just remember when it all goes down "blood is thicker than water"

Another thing, try to be rational and think for a while, why your family members don't like him. Is it without any reason or there is something wrong with your boyfriend?

Did he ever try to apologize to your Dad? It takes a big man to say I am sorry. If he is nice and respectful to you, they may come around. Time will tell.
