As said previously, do the motorcycle rider course - they teach you everything you need to know about riding the bike and also go through paperwork with you and show videos etc. This is the safest way to go and you can take the test when you have completed the course...it is usually a couple of nights and a weekend. I did it and I highly recommend it.

If you're in the United States, the largest group of motorcycle schools is run by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. I see someone has already posted the link. There is also the Rider's Edge program run by Harley-Davidson, and several other manufacturers have their own riding schools (I know Honda's got one in my area).

Check with the DMV or whatever other government agency is responsible for your driver's license. They will have a list of motorcycle schools.

Do a search for Motorcycle Safety Foundation. Their site tells you where you can learn to ride on their motorcycles for abou $250.

All you have to do is show up. They provide helmets, gloves, motorcycles, etc.

Depends on what state you live in. If you contact the State highway police or go to their online site, you should find a motorcycle safety class their, the cost is about $150.00, which in some states also includes getting your motorcycle license also.

Check with your local Motor Vehicle Admin.
Question for you...have you ever driven a car with standard transmission? Ridden a bicycle? If yes to both, riding will be a breeze. Just PRACTISE on an empty school lot for a few hours before tackling real traffic!

In Pennsylvania there is a course you can take through the DMV. Call your DMV to find out if they offer this kind of program. You get your license when you graduate from it. It is a one week program. Very good. I think they even have bikes you can use to learn on.

This is the one. They provide the motorcycle. I believe this also allows you to skip the road test at your local DMV and gets you an insurance discount on top.
