They still sell them.But now there called candy sticks.

I think they were just too hard to light. And I don't think anyone noticed how stupid they looked at the time.
As for real cigarettes, those should have disappeared, not the candy ones.

Because smoking is no longer socially acceptable behaviour; it has gone from being "cool" to being gross in about 40 yrs. Parents don't want their kids pretending to smoke, and besides the candy cigs tasted awful.

I dont know, but I do know that you can find them at some candy stores. Maybe people thought they were encouraging kids to become smokers or do other drugs

I still see them. I thought the concept was kind of weird. Smoking is bad. We don't want our kids to smoke, but let's give them candy cigarettes?

It gave children the wrong message. I never used those but i first smoked at 13 so too late anyway.

they are still around but now in remote convienient stores and are very hard to find. i bought some for my son and he loved the tattoos that came with em.
