i'm a met fan, but i suggest bring up that if the spanks don't win the series, AGAIN, with the most absolutely obsene payroll in ALL of sports, then i never EVER want to here ignorant homer yankees fans claim jeter gets even a sniff at the hall of fame.
the guy has never lead the league in a single major category, he's never been mvp, and is a punch n judy hitter. oh by the way, the last few years his teams payroll has been about 50% higher than the next team down. are you kidding me?! not 50% higher than the league average... the NEXT highest team. he's got at least 10 guys on the roster that have a legitamate shot to be in the hall when their careers are over barring injuring and they continue to do what they've done to date:
mariano, johnson, a-rod, cano, damon, giambi, mussina, abreu, sheffield, and supposedly himself.
bottom line, this year goes by w/out a championship there can be no more hall of fame talk or big time team leader praise bestoed on jeter. let's also keep in mind how he spoke up for for the cheating dirt bags giambi AND bonds, and let a-rod twist in the wind because of his PERSONAL differences with him. putting yourself in front of the good of the team isn't exactly a leadership quality.

Stop giving us Yankee fans a bad name by being so arrogant. What if the Sox came back next month and beat the crap out of the Yankees?
I'm a Yankee fan, but I think that trash-talking Yankee fans are just as bad as trash-talking Red Sox fans.

Ortiz said the Yankees should let them win one because it would make the series more interesting, but obviously he was joking!
