I am 21 years old and me and my fiance have been together for 6 years now and I have had baby fever since I was 17 or 18 years old. 30 some cousins and majority of them are younger than me and I raised most of them, I have always been around babies. My fiance and I have talked about ahving a baby for about 2 years now and it seems as the days go by we want one more and more. Then all of my friends and even some of my baby cousins have even had a baby. So that don't make me feel to good. But I am ready to have a baby and I want one more than anything. I tell myself that it will happen just let nature take it's course. If you want one that bad then start making it happen. I tell my fiance that it is all up to him (b/c he could pull out) then he tells me that it is up to me and I don't feel the way he does, I feel like he is the one who's in charge and makes the last minute decison. Good Luck and I hope everything goes well.

Men usually get baby fever about the time they feel like they are suppose to start a family and need a male heir to carry on their DNA. It is essential for the survival of man.
Many girls like the novelty of having a baby and think that if they are pregnant that the guy that they are with will marry them sweep them off their feet and they will live happily ever after (that of course is a myth).
Many women just feel after they are married that it is time to have a baby and once the baby grows up they miss it and want another.

There is no specific time when men or women get baby fever. Some do sooner than others and some never do. If you feel you are ready then go ahead start, provided your wife agrees with you, it must be the right time for her to become a parent too.

No offense to you, but guys usually don't even want to think about kids when they are that young, at least most of the guys I have met. I think around 30 or older seems to be the time people talk about it the most. It does happen when people are younger, I had my son when I was 26. It really depends on the couple. Have you talked it over with your wife? Maybe she is just as anxious as you to have a family but is afraid to bring it up. You should sit down with her and talk about it. You can weigh the pros and cons, talk about the financial aspect of it. Can we afford to have a baby right now? Are we financially stable? You should talk to other people who have children, especially your parents and your wife's parents. They will give you the straight story about it, and together you can find out if you are ready or not. Good luck!

Baby fever is totally natural! We are made for it. Having children is necessary to preserve the human race and the urge to spread your genetics is essential for this to happen.
Women usually get it sooner than men and it may start with the start of a period. However soon this may be.
I started getting baby fever at about age 19.
Men always have the urge to spread their genetics because it feels good.
The thing about both is you have to learn how to control it in order to plan and prepare for the life changing commitment children bring.
Best of luck to you!

For men, definitely, the older you get the more you start thinking about kids (at least if you don't have any, such as myself). I know in my case, I think I'm only now becoming mature enough to handle the responsibility and kids are starting to look cute. In my situation I would require that I have my own and not raise someone else's kid. I don't think anything is wrong with it, I just want to be there from the beginning where I can set the table for that child and don't have to worry about baby daddy or crazy baby mamma.

Usually when you were with or around a baby recently, And your head starting thinking WOW wouldn't it be great to be a Dad and have a little baby of my own. Also for Men it's a known Fact that when a Man creates a baby it makes them feel more like a man because it's something they created.

I got baby fever pretty much after i got married! Only because i was lonely because my husband worked a lot and i dunno i just wanted one!
As time went on, we moved, i got a good job and was having a great time with my husband i came to realise i was happy with the way my life was going, we had only been married for a year when we foundout i was pregnant. We were happy but sad that we hadn't been able to do all the things we planned too before we got pregnant. But needless to say there was a complication and We are no longer pregnant. We are very sad, but we knew it wasnt the right time.
I think when you know it's the right time for kids. you and your wife with both know and it will all work out!

It all depends on the person. I got baby fever as soon as I was married at 23, but my husband wanted to wait. We just had our first beautiful baby this year (I am 29). Just make sure you BOTH are ready because it is a lifelong commitment! You can not change your mnd! Good luck and happy baby-making! :-)
