Secret Window's a good one for Mississippi. The guy John Turtorro plays - the creepy one who's got an argument with the main character.

"In the Heat of the Night" was supposed to be set in Mississippi but I don't think it's necessarily a genuine accent. Go to this website because it seems to be a good article on mastering a Mississippi accent.

1) Read "Sanctuary" by Faulkner.
2) Listen to Trent Lott and Haley Barbour. Both classic Miss. accents.

Gone With the Wind. Great accents - and you get an idea of the "southern girl". I don't recommend trying to watch the whole thing. Just grab some pieces from here and there.
and basically - as one from the south, you just stop ennuciating, roll everything out, get a little lazy with your vowels. "I" sounds like "Ahh", and "oil" sounds like "ole". "Alright" is "a-igh(t)".
