You are probably thinking of thermite....it burns extremely hot and can go through just about anything (including people!!!!)....it is extremely dangerous and should not be used by anyone without a lot of experience in chemistry/etc.

bah, I can't remember exactly what the name of it was - but if you watch the show BRAINIAC on G4TV they are now showing at at the end of every show.

I know it burns are 2,000 degrees higher then a furnace - can melt straight through a car (shown on TV).

I'm going to say it's called Thermite (90% sure).
