I've read them both and loved both of them. I thought Eldest was better (partly because it was longer). I just loved the ending of Eldest since it totally took me by surprise.
Since Eldest I can't wait until book 3 comes out. I've also been dying to see the Eragon movie trailer which hasn't come out yet though.
I'm a big fan of the book and have read them multiple times!

I have read both, well written and the third book of Paolini's trilogy should be out in 2007.
