I couldnt agree with you more MTV has gone down hill, from the way it used to be, good *** video's to go with bad *** songs but anymore its all celeb BS. Bluberry yum yum now thats a different story i could never get tired of that or the song, i assume we could both agree with that though.

Yes, I totally agree with you. I try to avoid is as much as possible. I miss the days of having music on a music television channel instead of these "reality" shows (which, in essence, are not reality). Unfortunately, enough people watch it that it's a defining part of teen culture. I guess the best thing to do is if you don't like it, stay away from it. That's what I do, anyway.

I agree. I can't watch any MTV show for 10 seconds without cringing and my eye twitching. They promote the most ridiculous view of teen culture, assuming all teens are superficial, horny and cash-driven. (They are, but they should balance it out with other aspects of young culture).

Well... that's not why I dislike it...But because it is all goofy shows now, it is supposed to Music TeleVision. You used to turn on MTV and rot your brains on filthy videos(as my parents put it) but now, it's a waste of time with teeny bopper shows.
But as far as promoting superficial behavior....that's TV , movies and music videos in general.

I like MTV especially before when there's more music videos and top 10s and so... and I like some of their programs (MTV Made, Pimp my Ride, these wrestling with stars made of clay or something, or this where they check out the house of three guys/girl and pick a date).

I hate MTV. I quit watching it years ago, when they quit actually playing videos. There is nothing "music" about Music Television anymore.
I do however think Pimp My Ride is kinda cool, but not for MTV, maybe on Spike.

THANK YOU! My god, I haven't seen anything worse than MTV. I thought that MTV stood for music television, not sex, drugs and alcohol for minors. It is completely amazing how little self esteem these teenagers have to degrade themselves, and for what?! If this is what the world is coming to, then please put me out of my misery. My daughter will be raised with complete respect for herself and others. So much for the parents who let their children be on those shows! I thought they were supposed to be parents, not friends.

MTV is very lame. When it first came onto the scene. It was great. Actually showed real music videos and had great VJ's. Now it totally sucks with lame reality shows and crap videos.

I don't despise it per say but it is pretty mind numbing and inflicts cultural stigmas that aren't widely accepted. I think it hurts those who glamorize it and decreases their level of maturity. It also shirks most concepts of accountability.

i feel the same way. everything on that channel is the same. but thats what teens ask for now. they think those are the people to look up to. which is very sad that they look up to to people on tv that come off as easy and airhead like, but yet they get paid millions and young gurl think that if they act like that they could end up just like them
