I may have torn my medial meniscus and I find out the results of the MRI later today. If you tore your meniscus, what were your symptoms? I have a hard time bearing weight on my leg and it's really hard straightening it. Was this the case for you?

Try a combination of heating pad alternated by an ice-pak. Use whichever feels better. Ask Doc if you can take anti-inflammatory such as Aleve (naproxin sodium). Refrain from walking. You'll be all right.

The meniscus is a cushioning layer in your knee.
Stay off of it till they can fix it. It is great pain upon standing & walking, & doing almost anything with your knee.
I tore mine & they fixed it & I am fine now.
