I have a compatability dilema?

Ok my sun sign is a gemini. My rising sign is a virgo. I'm confused as to what sign and what rising sign I would do best with. Can an expert help me please?

If your Ascendant (rising sign and 1st house cusp) is Virgo than your Descendant (7th house cusp) is Pisces.

Anyone with a Pisces Sun sign would have their Sun sign in your 7th house. Great for compatibility, depending on the aspects involved, because the 7th house rules partnerships both marriage and business ones.

However, your Sun sign is in Gemini and Gemini and Pisces are square to one another (90° aspect), not so good for compatibility.

If your chart had some Aries in the 7th house as well ( would need your birth info: date, place and exact time, to determine that) then your Sun signs Gemini and Aries would be sextile (60° aspect) to one another, which is much better for compatibility. A Leo Sun sign would sextile your Sun sign.

Another Gemini would conjunct (0° aspect) your Sun sign.

However, this is just looking at Sun signs and that's not good enough in Synastry (relationship Astrology).

You must look to the whole chart to see what type of people you are attracted to not just your own sun sign and the other person's sun sign.

What aspects do your Sun, Moon and Ascendant make?

The 1st house is you, your personality and appearance.
The 5th house rules love affairs.
The 7th house rules partnerships.
The 8th house rules sexuality.

What planets are in the above houses and what aspects do they make? What signs are those planets in? What sign is on the cusp of those houses? What elements (fire, earth, air & water) and qualities (cardinal, fixed & mutuable) are involved?

For a female's chart you can look to the Sun and Mars and their aspects for what types of males they are attracted to.

For a male's chart you and look to the Moon and Venus and their aspects for what types of females they are attracted to.

Any sign can be with any other sign. It all depends on your whole chart, based on your DATE, PLACE, EXACT TIME of birth, not just your Sun signs.

Your whole chart then is then compared to the other person's whole chart using a technique called Synastry.

The aspects between each other's planets and points must be looked at and interpreted. The planets in each others houses must be looked at and interpreted, both ways. Affinities must be looked for. It's not simple to a layperson, but it is to people who are educated in Astrology terminology.

Sun sign horoscopes by themselves are absolutely inaccurate to determine compatibility between two people.

Alright. Lemme say first of all that its nice ta finally meet another Gemini. I've done some research on this along with many other things in my time outta mear curiousity.
Now the rising sign does attribute to your personality some. Maybe you're more organized then mosta us Geminis are. Lucky you!
But Gemini would be your primary. Just as when you're a cusp sign you can and most often do hold attributes of both signs. Like i'd prolly assume the women here that have already answered are either Virgos or Leos. Those tend to be the two more critical signs.
Which is fine. I mean to each his own.
I'm not an expert but i'm prolly the closest thing to it that you're gonna find on here.

Sag's & Libras are good matchs for Geminis. Libras are more stable then a Gemini is and they tend to like a balance of everything so in a way they can center a Gemini and at the same time have delightful conversations.
Sag's are good too but usually only for a short term relationship. After a while their more critical nature can be a bore for someone with a constant desire and need for change.
And last but not least another Gemini is a match for Gemini. But too much of a good thing can be just that. Too much of a good thing.

I think the best thing I can say is that you shouldn't invest too much time into thinking that you should go by astrology to find your perfect match. My parents were "perfect for each other" according to their astrological signs but they got divorced when I was very young. Astrology is fun and everything, but you shouldn't miss an opportunity to be with someone cool just because she isn't the sign you are looking for. You might miss something.
