The term 'golden duck' means when the bowler gets the batsman out by ways like bowled , caught , ran-out , LBW etc on the first ball of the new batsmans innings without a score but 0.

A duck is the same but it is if the batter gets some runs or not but out on the second ball

In cricket, a duck denotes a batsman getting out for a score of zero and usually used in the saying "Out for a duck". Originally called a "duck's egg" because of the "0" shape in the scorebook. A batsman who is out for a duck twice in the same match is said to have got a pair (short for 'pair of spectacles,' shaped like two zeros).

Originally a golden duck was when a batsman was run out without having faced a single ball - usually as a result of a bad running decision by one player or another. However, nowadays cricket commentators use the term to mean that a batsman has got out on the first ball they faced, and when a batsman is run out without facing a single ball, they use the term "diamond duck". The old usage is, however, still current among many cricket fans. A golden duck (modern usage) on the second of two consecutive wicket-taking balls from the same bowler (as is common) gives the bowler a chance of a hat trick.

A king pair is a golden duck in both innings of a two-innings-per-side match (such as a Test match or other first-class match).

A golden duck is when, the Batsmen is given out, and he has not scored any runs and has only faced one ball. In otherwards, on the scorecard, it would read:

Diamond duck (AKA Black Duck or Glass Duck): is when a batsman is run out without facing a single ball.

They've all got it wrong! A duck in each innings is a pair; a first-ball duck in each innings is a golden duck.
