Aid usually goes to poor countries doesn't it?

Israel and Egypt. A reward for the Sinai agreement.

But military aid isn't the same as typical "foreign aid" to the poor. It's political. Part of the anti-terror program.

Because Israel is a country of 5 million surounded on all sides by hundreds of millions arabs that want them dead. Until we liberated Afghanistan and Iraq, they were the only democracy in the middle-east. They are one of our closest allies.

Most of our aid to them is military, not economic.

Because they're such good allies. See how much the last war they did helped us? In Iraq they are now chanting "Death to America!" Man we owe them a huge bundle of thanks! With a friend like Israel, how can we not win over the hearts and minds of moderate Arabs!
