Honey don't stress yourself out because when you do you stress the baby out. Measuring small is something that is very common in many, many women. It is ok, it does not mean that there is anything at all wrong with your baby. The doc orders an ultrasound for this just as a precautionary measure, just to double check & make for sure. I had several sonos during my pregnancies that were for "measuring too small". My doc would write that down when I wanted to have another sono, but insurance will only pay for it if there is a "reason" for the sono. I'm sure you & your baby are just fine. Good luck & congrats!

If your doctor measured from the outside it is almost never accurate. The reason he or she is wanting to get an ultra sound is to make sure everything is ok. An ultra sound doesnt mean anything is wrong just think of it as more pictures for you. My son also decided to go breech in the last month and he still managed to turn himself around so if your child is breech then he could still turn. I am sure that everything will turn out ok just dont stress your self out about it yet wait until the results come back.

Don't freak out, determining the gestational age of a baby is not always easy. Your OB probably wants to double check things to make sure there wasn't a prior mistake on the age. I don't know if a small baby can be a sign of any problems, but be thankful that your doctor is ordering extra tests to insure that your baby is fine. We found out after an amniocentesis (because I was 35) that our daughter has Mosaic Down's Syndrome. At first we were devastated, but at least we had time to educate ourselves and prepare for anything and everything instead of being shocked when our baby was born. Although when she was born you would never have known she has MDS - she is a beautiful healthy baby. My point is, it's always best to know ahead of time if there is the potential for any problems. It will give you a chance to grieve, educate and prepare for any special circumstances surrounding your new baby. You will have enough going on already with any newborn without adding stress of any surprises. Best wishes for a happy, healthy baby!!

RELAX.....BREATHE. Chances are your baby is fine. The doctor would have addressed any concerns he had with you if there was a problem. Your due date could be off, your baby could be small. I had the same thing with my 2nd pregnancy and they were a little concerned about his weight so for the last 6 weeks I got to eat a pint of Ben & Jerrys every day! He was born at 7lbs 13 oz. The ultrasound will give a clearer view of babys size and such so they can make sure theres no problems

First of all. Don't panic. You were measured small so was I. I had a 8 pound 11 ounce baby girl 6 weeks ago! You could have a tilted uterus which is nothing unless it bothers you. That was the reason I measured small. But try to relax. Don't worry unless the Doctor tells you to worry. He is crossing off the worse things first. Don't put words in his mouth LOL. And Good luck!

It's nothing to worry about. It's a typical precaution most doctors take. If they baby is measuring small, it could just be a small baby or the due date is off slightly. Neither one is anything to worry about. My daughter measured small too and they kept delaying my due date. When I finally had her at almost 10 months, she was only 18" long. That's not tiny, but small for how long I went. I asked them if I was supposed to have the Jolly Green Giant....I'm only 5' tall myself!! Due dates often get changed and the ultrasound is just a precaution. It'll answer alot of questions. Don't get upset and just enjoy the pregnancy!!

I went in for my test the former day and my toddler replaced into measuring 5 days smaller than he theory it would yet he didnt look very in contact he stated we'd could wait yet another 2 weeks to renowned the form. yet I even have additionally study on line that docs shouldnt additionally be doing ultrasounds until eventually the toddler is a minimum of 8 or 9 weeks. so I dont rather get why they might test us so early anyhow

They do it as a precaution. My baby was measuring small, too, even on ultrasound. He came out perfectly healthy with apgars of 9 and 9, even though he was only 5 pds 10 oz.

You need to be more specific as to how far you are in your pregnancy. It could mean many things, but you should ask your doctor the reason why he is requesting the ultrasound so like that you do not need to be driving yourself crazy...

they told my girlfriend the same thing. it turned out that the baby was just toward the back of the uterus and was actually the size it was supposed to be but because of it's position, the doctor couldn't tell. it turned out to be no big deal at all.
