I think being politically incorrect is politically incorrect.

It's a way to close your eyes to the differences amongst cultures of the world.

Asian? Oriental? Guess what? BOTH words are NOT words which originate in any of the countries considered "Asian". They were BOTH created by Westerners.

To me, BOTH words are incorrect.

I cannot stand to be corrected by a "white person" who tells me I am not "oriental" because I am a person, not an object.

HELLO? If "oriental" describes an object, and "asian" describes people, then why do my white friends say they went shopping at the "asian market"? Isn't a market a THING?

I agree with you, dude. Jokes are jokes. Jokes are funny. The world needs to lighten up. And stop worrying about being offensive.

There can be ethnic jokes that just poke fun, that are humorous, but you have to consider the situation.
All ethnic jokes perpetuate stereotypes.
So do the dumb blonde jokes, etc.
Some of them are just so flippin' old that they only are only worth a groan. I can only imagine what it must feel like to hear the same put down over some physical attribute that I possess, day after day, after day. For your entire life. At some point it's not funny anymore, it's annoying.
Pretty sure that it isn't immature to feel offended.

I think it depends on the spirit in which the joke is said. Some 'jokes' taunt or mock a person's ethnicity - that kind can offend even mature people.

No, I don't get offended by them. I like to make fun of the people who ask them. Or to say some dim-witted, stupid, nonsensical answer. Honestly, it depends on the nature of the joke. Some things are just inappropriate.

I'm polish and blonde... I've heard PLENTY of jokes. I don't get offended, because I obviously know they aren't true. Maybe the only people who get offended really believe that they are true?

Ethnic joke tellers are the immature ones. The practice is a hurtful one.

I tell racist jokes all the time, but only to people that I know have a sense of humor. I don't consider myself a racist individual... in fact I make jokes against my own culture.
