Those don't happen to be some of my personal favorites from the 70's. I find that some of today's artist's 's fantastic. Just bought Five for Fighting Two lights , and Savage Garden think the lyrics are great.

the young people of today have no clue what GOOD music is. My 11 year old son does appreciate The Steve Miller band! I say there has never been better music than that of the times before the 90's. 80's is iffy but it did put out some good stuff i guess.

i wish!!!....i am a disco f a n a t i c!!! but because of the age we're in now i doubt we'll ever see any of our great stuff from the past....i was born in 69 so i was way too young for studio 54 but i gotta tell ya if i could go back and go in there i'd probably kill myself in that place! (lol)...its not popular or cool to write the same kinds of songs as back then when lyricists wrote about the vietnam war or kent state shootings....i dont get it either...will miss it except for what i can buy (on cd no less) god and what about 8 tracks? LOL we were sooo cheesy :o)

Of course you can still get lyrics in the style of the 70's. Writers from this era are still alive and those of this generation can still compose using the same genre styling of their fave(that's a 70's term)group or artist. Groovy, far out, heavy lyrics are still out there....

Haha, I'm gonna take it you're joking with your song examples, and if you're not, I'm very sorry for you. But to answer your question, no. That day is over, and it's a sad fact. We can only look back and admire the lyrics, and know that they'll never be beaten.

The 70's had some good lyrics but it was the 80's that had the best.

The 70s?
Pah!

That's what I say to the 70s - Pah!

If you want great lyrics go to the 50s.
That's where you go - to the 50s.

Did the 70s have anything as wonderful as

"Close the door, they're coming through the window.
Close the door, they're coming up the stairs.
Close the door, they're hanging on the ceiling
Those bubby dee bubby dee bubs are everywhere."

Brings tears to your groin, huh?

We won't see them unless our generation write em'. We are
allowing this Nuclear generation to erase our footprints. We
should start our own Fan club. We need a revolution.
This Cosmic generation can't speak proper English, let alone
write it.
I nominate YOU as our leader.
