Bare Escentuals - mineral powder foundation. NOT oily; in fact it absorbs oil. This is the best I have found, it works great for me.

ok well may be ur not using the right makeup and foundtion i think u should try l'oreal true match foundation it's really good it blends in with ur skin so it ooks natrual and doesn't look fake or cakey and it's not too thick or it doesn't feel like a mask and it doesn't clog pores and it's look natraul and it's easy to find ur shade since they have tons of skin colors and this is how i aply my make up so it doesnt lok like i wear a lot and it looks natrual just buy this fondation or whatever foundation and put some on ur fingers a lil bit then rub ur finger a lil bit and then start apllying it on ur face and as ur are applying it massge it and rub it a litlle bit in round circle motion all over ur face and the u'll see it's not too much but it's enough to give u a great coverage and it feels like if u wering nothing at all and just make sure u wash ur face before applying foundation and use sunscreen or lotion before putting on anymakeup this way ur skin feels fresh and soft and makes sure u find the foundation that goes with ur coor and u can also try the new powder from l'oreal it's calles l'oreal bare minerals it's really good it gives u a great coverge but it doesn't look like if it's cakey or too much so try this and i'm sure ur makeup will look like other girls good luck

We have the same problem, but I have solved mine earlier , by trying mineral makeup! Well, to answer your question, :
How about applying primer first, before proceeding to apply your foundation? It would help foundation last longer ! Mineral makeup is the new trend nowadays because it is more natural-looking, does not look oily on the face, but rather, dewy, and hides away imperfections like a dream. They also have great oil-absorbing finishing powders that help the face look oil-free.
So far, I love Bare Escentual's mineral makeup, there are also good brands such as Everyday Minerals, Larenim, Urban Apothecary, Jane Iredale, and may more. You may visit the sites I have included on my reference list for articles about mineral makeup.

my skin is kind of oily and sensitive to makeup. also i don't usually like a lot of makeup and i don't like to look like i have a lot of makeup so usually i use mineral makeup. currently using Bare Minerals brand and am looking at other mineral makeup brand as well (Jane Iredale, Pure Luxe, and Everyday Mineral). the Bare Minerals brand and mineral makeup in general covers acne really well and it doesn't make your face look cakey. you also don't have to use too much of it (the foundation or makeup in general) to cover your face and still have that flawless look.
you can check this blog about mineral makeup. it also has a link to a Everyday Mineral mineral makeup website where you can try a free sample of Everyday Mineral makeup. you just cover the shipping cost (which is like $4 to more), i have to say that i haven't tried this brand yet but i just put in my free sample order.

Get a mineral powder foundation; many companies sell it now. It doesn't turn orange or greasy by the end of the day like liquid foundations, and it can improve your skin.

Have you ever tried Arborne? It's great!
And it's even guaranteed. You have 45 days to try it, and if you are not satisfied, you get your money back.
