The first few months after they first learned to drive, there is this urge to test themselves on how fast they can drive, it's more of the need for speed feeling (adrenaline rush) that you get for driving fast.
Another thing, most of the time teenagers just want to show off.

what is fast to you may not be im not a teenager but i see just as many adults driving fast and like idiots or old people who are more danderous by not driving the sspeed limit like 30 in 55 mph on the interstate people drive the way they do because they are trying to get some place

Not all teens drive fast but they reason for driving so fast has more to do with the thrill of doing it and lack of regard for the law and lack of regard for the persons in front of them.

It is the first time in their lives that they have ever gotten a car. Before teenage years, they were begging for a car for a long time. Also, some people think that they are cool, when they are not. Usually, those teenagers will get into car accidents and kill themselves.
