I live in New York so overall Hawaii didnt seem all that over priced to me..Things like Kraft Salad dressing and breakfast cereal are pretty expensive...but you can buy local brands that cost a hell of a lot less..gas is the same..One of the bad things about Hawaii is the Crystal Meth problem which tends to bring a lot of trashy islanders to the touristy areas...a lot of the local hawaiians hate the tourists so watch what you leave around on the beach..they want us and the united states to go away..I was just there and we saw a lot of people get there stuff stolen...Seafood is amazing...right now there was a new blow out so you can see excellant lava flow if you are willing to take a pretty long hike out to the rim....Dont stay in Southpoint or oceanview on the Big Island there is nothing there..nothing at all....and the locals down there do not like the tourists...Overall it is a great place to go on vacation...

Hawaii is a great place to visit, especially the Big Island! My favorite. If you like to outdoors, hiking and seeing the real Hawaii this is the island! It is a very relaxing place to be. There's nothing bad about it, only that your trip will be to short and you will have to leave! It smells really good. Flowers everywhere and fresh air. Love it!

It's a nice place but people usually get island fever after being there for 2 years or less. As a consequence of this, people don't want to generally be too close of a friend with you on the island until you have been there 2 years first.
It's also very common for multiple familes to share one house because of the cost of living.

The good about Hawai'i is you never have to worry about the ever changing season's it always stays the same. Spring and Summer.
The bad about Hawai'i is its way to expensive.
The truth is that Hawai'i really is expensive.
The false that there are plenty of job opportunities there you just gotta get off your high end and get out there and look.

I think Hawaii is just an expensive version of Mexico where you can drink the water without getting sick.

What's good is what you think is good.
What's bad is what you think is bad.
What's true is what you think is true.
What's false is what you think is false.
