Many people feel that time is a man made concept and that the actual accomplishment you speak of will happen when the moment is right. The truth is that society as a whole lives under a time schedual and the people who "fritter away time" are afraid to succeed or feel that the accomplishemnt is beneath them. Often you'll find that individuals who feel they have forvere have not come with the terms that life is not forever, and when something is put off there is less then 88.29% chance that they will return to teh original goal as life gets in the way...having a family, getting divorced or death all tend to have teh adverse reaction on the time qoutient. Take a deep breath and see that they will be the onesto suffer and know in your herat that you live everyday to the fullest.

Why do people rush instead of slowing down enough to enjoy the journey? Where's the fire, anyway? I guess it just depends on your outlook.

It seems to me like you're a hypocrite. What better way to "fritter away" your time then to ask and answer question on Yahoo Answers. Have you accomplished all your goals today?

Procrastination- plain and simple. You put things off and never achieve anything. "Oh, I will write that book tomorrow." Tomorrow never comes. Your bestfriend publishes hers/his and throws it in your face.
"Oh, I will ask Jenny to marry me tomorrow." Tomorrow never shows up. Your bestfriend asks Jenny to marry him and she says yes but looks longingly at you.
People waste time and achieve less due to no desire. Fire up the will, there will be a way.
