Obviously you can't find the exact numerical of x, far too many variables.

Here is how you do it in algebra

ax + 24b = c

you have to isolate the x, or ax in this case. Isolate the term which you want to have and any terms multiplied by it. To do this subtract 24b from both sides:

ax = c - 24b

Then you just have ax, when you need x. Obviously just divided both sides by a. Simple as that.

x = (c-24b)/a

Remember that you must do the same to both sides, and to the whole of each side.

x = c - 24b/a is not true!

Hope you understand, it is easy when you come up with a method and take the time to think it over.

ax+24b=c
ax=c-24b
x=(c-24b)/a
or
c/a-24b/a "c"over "a" - "24b" over "a"

^_^ I think, or else I may have to retake Algebra

x=(c-24b)/a

I consider a,b and c are positive real numbers!

u can't so... as for the intergers would stay independent. x can not combine with b or equal c

x= (c/24b/a)

I would like to know why you needed to ask such a simple question. Does your teacher do a very poor job?

x=(c-24b)/a

then everything else is mere substitution.

x=(c-24b)/a

to find a
a=(c-24b)/x

b=(c-ax)/24

24=(c-ax)/b

i get extra credit right
