Over four years ago in Tennessee I was in a car accident. I was sued without knowing they won I owe over 6,000$ and it keeps going up with interest. Also the car I was driving wasn’t in my name at the time however I did buy it. The bad thing is Its stopped me from getting my driving license till this is paid.

Were you served with a notice to appear in court? You can have the judgement overturned if you can prove that you were never served to appear in court. You have the right to defend yourself in any action against yourself and if you weren't properly notfied, then it should be fairly easy to have it overturned. The plaintiff (the person who sued you) has to show proof that your were served in one of a couple of ways, either by personal service (someone physically handed you the paperwork) or by mail (you signed for a letter with the paperwork in it). If niether of those ways happened, then I'd fight it.

If you did receive service and simply didn't show up for court it could be a real battle to get the judgement removed. You may be able to do so through a bankruptcy, depending on what kind of judgement it is.

I'd say find a free legal aide clinic through your county or city and talk with an attorney.

You need to hire an attorney and appeal the law suit if there is some basis for it being false. were you the driver of the car, and were you at fault of the accident,

Next you need to find out why the insurance company of the car you were driving did not pay the claim. And then sue them for the amount they are wanting.

And, if you are guilty and the owner of the car that you were driving did not have insurance, you need to work out a payment plan to pay this off, since yes untill the court is happy that this will be paid, you will be walking

it sounds like they got a default judgment against you. They would not have been able to get a judgment against you unless they had a declaration from a process server showing that you had been given notice of the lawsuit in some manner.

You need to consult with a local attorney right away to see if there is any way to set aside the judgment.
