Give her a bunch of stuff for a new apartment if she's moving to one. Some stationery with stamps (even though no one writes anymore). A card for extra minutes on her cell phone. You can also add a special picture of the two of you. Check out online where she's moving and find her favortie places there (restaurants, entertainment) then give her a book with their addresss in it and phone #'s and gift certificates. Remember that she might not be able to bring a lot of stuff with her.

I would research the area she is moving to. Help her feel comfortable in her new surroundings. Collect the information about the best restaurants, with their numbers, and menus. The local movie theater with a gift certificate.Find a beauty salon in that area that is highly recommended and schedule her 1st appointment or gift certificate. Place all the items in a basket with a note from you, show her you appreciate her, and that you wanted to help make the move SPECIAL .

If you place a picture of your current town, or you, or something from there... a piece "home" will always be with her. Let her know that even though she is moving, she will always have a "home to come back to!

You could borrow a video camera from someone and interview your closest friends. You could ask them questions about the friend that's moving - like their best memories, most embarrassing moments with her, etc. Of course, you'd also have to get someone to interview you - or just do an MTV-style confessional thing.

OR

You could also make her a themed gift. For example, you could buy a cute bag and fill it with a DVD that you guys really like, a bag of popcorn, a gift certificate to Starbucks or a cool restaurant in the area that she's moving to (you could search for restaurants in her new town & order the certificate on line). You could also include a cute pad of stationary with a bunch of envelopes that are stamped and addressed to you, and a list of the 10 best/most special things you two did together.

Sorry your friend is moving - but I hope you keep in touch!

Purchase an airline ticket for her to come back around the hoidays for a few days or a weekend. She will be saying good bye knowing she will be coming back

Or buy her a soft and warm throw blanket that she can use during the cold winter months in Michigan. She will think of you with warm thoughts every time she uses it.

Get her some funny saying magnets for her new frig, they have great ones at hallmark, put it in a nice wrapped little box with tissue and put a note in there telling her that no one wants big clunky things to fill up a new home, these are sentimental items that will hold all of her future treasures from the great days ahead!

I'd buy a bus, train, or plane ticket. (2-way). SO then you'll both have something to look forward to. And get her a neklace, not some cheesey best friends forever thing. Something to help her keep the faith. A cross or a pentogram, whatever her faith. Then writh her a note to go with it that says
Keep the Faith...... Until next time.
then give her the tickets. Or you can buy the tickets for yourself to go and see her new place. Just tell her not to worry, you'll see eachother soon. And you can prove it... with tickets.

Well, you can take the pictures that you do have of the both of you together and make a collage. My cousin did that for her bf that moved away and it turned out really nice. She decorated it with glitter and stickers, and put it in a frame.

Well you can buy her a new outfit(if you know what she likes to wear)

buy her boxes, the girl will need them if she is moving. Buy her flowers that lets her know that you will miss her. Give her a picture of the two of you together, thats a cool idea.

How about a stationary set. I know it sounds cheesy, but nothing is better than recieving a letter from a good friend in the mail, you could even give her pre stapmed envelopes to mail to you.
