Obviously, we have an idea where not to go, though for yourself, what is your prefered venue to find what you would be looking for.

* The point may be moot, if you've just about given up - since the games never end, and there are always undesirables lurking somewhere with their own agendas.

I have given up. I am going to just let nature take its course. If someone wants to hook up with me, I will be more than willing to, but they just have to ask first. Maybe if I think I really have a chance with a particular individual I'll start flirting with them...but other than that, no way.

Well thankfully my partner and I have been together for nine years and I don't see us splitting up anytime soon.

BUT....

If I were to find myself single again, I'd probably get involved more so, in working within the GLBT community. I'd probably go back to working as a councelor for a GLBT community center. Not to mention all the other groups and organizations I already volunteer with, I'd probably get more involved by spending more time at these endevors.

Simply put, I'd go where I know there would be a higher concentration of GLBT people.

WOW....I havent been single in a while. I couldnt even tell ya where to start.......lemme see if I can try tho...

Starbucks
Library
House party
Club Scene
Internet dating
Park
Bar
Yahoo Answers?!?!
That Myspace crap?
Friends of friends?
Family events

I think the best way to meet someone is out of the ordinaire. Say a visit to the grocery store or a passerby in a restaurant..I dunno.

Hmmm, from looking at the above list, I didn't even meet my hubby in any of those ways...It was a simple hello in the shop he works in....lol

Just do yourself a favor and stay out of the online personals. I heard most of the women on those things were unstable. And I met enough to believe it. Try to meet someone in person. I'm serious. Do a search for a local gay social club.

Why would you look for an individual? Why can't you let time take it's course? I wasn't looking for a boyfriend and I just made friends and partied it up. Got to know people and went from there on and met a potential boyfriend. I think you have to make friends and acquaintances. You are asking for (anal warts) if you are looking for a same sex partner. A lot of people are fake and have fisaudes (spelling). Get to know people first for a while and see if they are the real deal!

I met my wonderful husband on the internet and we have been happily married for five and a half years. But don't go on dates with the people you meet on the internet. Meet them for coffee to "interview" them, then talk with them on the phone, exchange emails, meet them in a public place where their/your friends or family is present before you finally go on a date. Be picky. Make sure the man is financially, emotionally, etc. stable. My husband was a widower and has a good career.

yes, i have an idea of where not to go. but that's as far as i seem to know.
it seems the more ive learned, the less the possibilities, and people are so god damn conformist and live in a purge for security and predictability..
ignorance is bliss. but i can well live without that kind of bliss.
