Well,to everyone that answered the question saying that our blood is blue and becomes red with contact of oxygen is very ignorant.I am 14 years old and right now I am in 9th grade with 11th and 10th grade classes. So I try.But all who said that wanted to seem smart because the alot of other people said it.But in reality that cant be true because in the process of the blood flowing through our veins, oxygen is also going along with it.Because thats helping get oxygen to the brain. So all people who said that junk about blood being blue...your stupid. But I do agree with magicrajesh.Blood does have different color pigments according to body and response types.

Well just wanted to say that.

Thanks,Veronica

In humans and other hemoglobin-using creatures, oxygenated blood is a bright red in its color. Deoxygenated blood is a darker shade of red, which can be seen during blood donation and when venous blood samples are taken. However, due to an optical effect caused by the way in which light penetrates through the skin, veins typically appear blue in color in light-skinned people. This has led to a common misconception that before venous blood is exposed to air it is blue.
