Or is this just more fear mongering from Republicans and Fox News?

I find it odd that the racist moron who said "it's some kind of towel head holiday" is the closest here to being correct.

Iran did threaten to nuke something today. It isn't from the Republicans and the Fox News Group. It is a report that the middle eastern Iranian news put out after he made a speech saying He was going to.
It is all about envoking fear in people. And then catching them unaware after the fact.

It might turn out to be like Alli living forever. Because people did not believe him he decided to not be Immortal.

If to many people are not taking it seriously. It could cause the 12th I-man to stay in Heaven.

I wish all the Mideastern people on this forum would be more kind to us Westerners. We were never exposed to these important events before 9/11. So it puts us at a disadvantage. The world could be coming to an end and we would not even know it.

Where in the HELL did Fox News air this?

Here is an example of no less than THREE rumors running around with their head's cut off.

1. August 22nd, militant Muslims will do something very bad to us.

2. Iran already HAS a nuclear bomb.

3. Fox news has said either or both of the above.

Will you babies please stop it? I'm telling your parents on you! If you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all.

If you do only one thing I ask, please make it the last one. Don't say anything at all.

Others already accurately explained the story...just a vague comment from Iran that sparked some interest. But I would just like to show one example of liberal "positions" expressed here.

"Yes, that was from the Neocon Propaganda machine. Bush just admitted yesterday that he lied about Iraq having anything to do with 9/11, how ironic that the Neocons on Yahoo have such different agendas. I say they are terrorists my self. "

That is a prime example. The president made no such "admission". As I continually say, these people will tell any lie...they have to because they don't have anything factual to support their position.

Never mind all the un-informed responses you are getting here, who obviously are not up to speed on their current events.
The August 22 wasn't even related to the Uranium Enrichment either.....There was a fair amount of publicity around some type of terrorist attack or something to that effect that was suppose to occur (someway tied to Iran) on August 22..

This year, we are told, the Muslim commemorations associated with their calendar date 27 Rajab will occur on August 22...

If as the president of the Reform Party in Syria, Farid Ghadry claims, “Ahmadinejad is planning an illumination of the night sky over Jerusalem to rival the one that greeted the Prophet of Islam on his journey,” then it is difficult to imagine anything other than a full-scale Iranian nuclear attack. As Spencer continues, “a nuclear attack on Jerusalem or even an all-out conventional assault against Israel by Iran would be consistent with Ahmadinejad’s oft-repeated denials of Israel’s right to exist and recent predictions that its demise was at hand.” These observations are the latest from a growing list of ominous portents from Iranian and Syrian leaders too horrific to ignore.

Its not the Republicans or Fox News... it's been reported on CNN since Ahmadinejad promised "fire from the sky" on 8/22/06 in response to the UN's request for his answer to the UN ultimatum for his nuclear energy program.

And it wasn't the US but Israel that was the target of his threat.

The United States is the leading nation currently committing brutalities and injustices, yet Washington is home to a government which claims to be the ultimate moral authority on the globe. While invading and occupying nations which posed no threat to them, slaughtering innocent civilians, and torturing suspected enemies, the United States continues to mouth empty platitudes about spreading freedom and democracy, pompously lecture other nations on human rights, and hypocritically determine which nations are too “evil” to be trusted with nuclear technology.
