You can't put yourself into labor. You can try nipple stimulation which can cause your uterus to contract, walking or sex. I have been induced with both of my daughters. Its really not that bad. Good Luck!

I loved being induced. You have time to prepare everything in advance and you can notify all your friends and relatives in advance. I thought it was great.
They hook you up to your IVs and start the protosene and you slowing get contractions. I have heard some people say that it is horrible. It really isn't.
You get the contractions a little at a time just like you would if you went into labor on your own. I made the mistake with my daughter and didn't order the epidural soon enough so I had to go through labor with no pain medication at all and I was induced. It hurt like hell.
Get an epidural and you wont feel all the contractions.
When I went into labor with my son, I wasn't induced and the contractions came on strong and hard. It didn't start slow and work up. I got an epidural with him because the pain was to intense.
When induced they contractions slowly increase. It gives you time to adjust and get use to the pain of them.
I still recommend an epidural though.
Hope this all has helped you feel more comfortable with getting induced.
Congratulations.

You can try doing alot of walking...I mean alot! I did that. I think I paced Wal-mart at least 10 times a night. It sucked, but I was desperate. I dont know if that is what helped me or not but I ended up going into natural labor the day before I was supposed to get induced. (I was 8 days late.) Dont try the pills and teas that people suggest, they give you contractions of the wrong kind (like the ones you get during a stomach ache) and you will just be more miserable.

Go for a power walk which will get your body worked up & start contractions. Then go inside & sit down & drink a glass of wine (only one), this helps the body to relax which will help to dialate & eface. I went into labor the next morning with doing this. Hope it helps you I know how miserable you are right now. Most importantly just try to relax & not stress over the fact that your not in labor yet. Oh yea, & this is safe for you to do (drinking the wine) I asked my doc about it before I did it & he said it was fine. If it doesn't work the first day do it again the next day. Again, hope it works for you. Good luck & congrats.

there's a sort of concepts used to bring about exertions. the two that i individually experienced have been Cervidil, that's a tiny pill it is located on your cervix. They do it by skill of rather lots in basic terms sticking their hand up there and putting it -- this isn't any longer friendly although this is over on the instant. They placed you on a computer screen for an hour to make constructive the toddler is doing nicely after which you in basic terms wait and notice for a on the same time as. i became into additionally given Pitocin that's a drug it is run via IV.

There are a lot of things that can help induce labor at home. Internally, Castor oil and enimas are probbably the most effective to kick start labor. (according to my midwife) But be sure that your doctor knows you are doing this.

Sex, walking and nipple stimulation are the most effective external methods. Do some squats if you can. Also, I've heard people say that toilet sitting helps, but that is only after your cervex has begun to dialate.

Don't show up for your induction, for one, if there's not serious medical reason for them to induce your labor. Or tell your doc you would prefer to wait a few more days to see if labor starts on it's own.

Try raspberry leaf tea, walking, sex (semen naturally helps soften the cervix), getting totally relaxed, have a good long soak in a warm bath and walk some more.

Sorry, I don't have anything that you already don't have listed. Sex and exercise is all I have. Besides trying not to stress about it too much. Maybe it you relax it will just come about naturally.

I was born 9 days late and my mom went into labor naturally. So at least you are not alone.

they say that having sex will do the job,i heard it on a pregnancy show yesterday!but it will only work if you have an orgasm and he ejaculates inside you!its something to do with the sperm softening the tissues and your orgasm starting contractions!because an orgasm is a kind of contraction!so have sex evreytime you think of it,but only if enjoyable!and try walking alot afterwards!and may God bless you with a safe and happy delivery, and may He bless you and your family in many ways!
