the best way to stop doing something which causes you stress and anxiety (or more commonly "fear") is to face your fears.
If you run and hide from something, it will undoubtedly catch up with you in ways you might not find enjoyable.
Let's put our heads together and see what it is that makes this person such an enigma for you:
There is, from what you're saying, an element to this person which makes him keep popping up in your thoughts. He has said / done something or he is quite attractive physically however, something about him puts you off him. Sorta like, you love to hate him?? Don't worry, we all been there, done that, the time we meet someone we can't live with, nor live without.
Perhaps, if he's attractive you dont like his personality, or you fear he wont like you back. The best way to put your fear or anxiety behind you - if you really want to get him out of your mind, is to envisage what he'll say/think if he knows you secretly fancies him. If you think he'll probably laugh, then he's really an a**hole you're better off without. if he's weak-willed and not intelligent or he's vulgar and trashy, then, chances are, you'll end up having to put up with that for a long time if you are something like, in love with him...
trust me, if you truly love someone, you'll feel loved in return, if there's warning signs telling you that he aint right in a fundamental way (even though the package might look good on the outside) then its better to heed the warning signs. happiness cannot be bought for all the gold in the world, dont compromise with your happiness. would you sell your eyes, or both your ears, or your limbs, for a million dollars? no, so, if you have happiness, then, money or fancy packaging wont matter. read good books, not brainless romance novels that are nothing more than adult fairytales, but something intelligent. and while you're at it, retain the focus on that which is fundamentally good for you, and then rethink why thoughts of this seemingly 'unworthy' fella keeps plagueing your mind...

Take up sky-diving. Enlist in the Marines. Volunteer to artificially inseminate crocodiles. Break up drunken brawls as you come across them in parking lots. Engage in online trading. See how many cats and dogs you can carry to the public library. Coordinate an orgy at church. Hurl baked goods at cars from an overpass. Help a prisoner escape from jail. Put a collar on your pet shark.

ANY of these activities should detract from your usual, mundane obsession. Have fun!

Dreamworld is enjoyable and interesting, but try to find a dreamworld that benefits you and your future. Read the classics, discover what your dream character provides that your life is missing, write a novel based on this, ask your spirit guide what you can learn from this, see if your someone can bring something into your life. Please make sure that whatever experience you have benefits you.

May be subconsciously you do like him, and you are trying to tell your self you do not like this person,
If this is a big deal for you, don"t you know how to block someone out of your head?
