I am on the pill but I don't take it exactly the same time every day. Sometimes I take it 3 hours before or after, but not more than that.
If you take pills that have a placebo period (a number of pills that have a different color) you have more chances of getting pregnant when you are closer to the placebo ones, before or after.
You have to remember to take the pill every day and make that a habit. It;s been two years now and I've never forgot to take one. I guess that if you're responsible enough to have sex, you have to be equal responsible to take the pill or any measures necessary to avoid unwanted pregnancies

Meds are most effective when
the drug is maintained at the same level throughout a 24 hr period. This means that all medications are most effective if taken at roughly the same time daily. With bcp's it is especially true. Taking them randomly, even during a 12 hour period will increase your risk of pregnancy. I would take them within the same 3 hours period every day. AM or PM doesn't matter. Just be consistent.

It's probably a good idea to keep practice of the same time, but since I was so sloppy with it, I now take Depo which is given every three months. All I have to do is go to the nurse for about 15 min to 1/2 (wait time) and I'm done!!

Not necessarily. its recommended to take it at the same time everyday to make your body think its doing it naturally. Be careful though, you should stick to a routine. I didn't take mine at the same time every day and skipped 2 days but doubled up...I am now 5 months pregnant with my 2nd child. I got pregnant when my first was 6 months old!

You're supposed to. The closer to the same time, the better. They say if you take it within about 2 hours of your usual time, that's ok. The goal is to keep the hormone levels in your system constant.

that's what they say but if you wake up late and it's passed the time.. then you can just take it right when you wake up.I always take mine between 10 to 12..depending on when I wake up. You might want to consider getting plan b ,just in case to avoid conception from happening..I take my pills every day..But still wanted the plan b just in case.
