I'll have to say, Peter Jackson. You can tell he actually LOVES movies and does a really good job of keeping what fans want to see in mind when he' s making a film.

Luc Besson. His stories are engaging, he is not cheesy like Spielberg can be, he doesn't have a 'trademark' style, he can do well action, drama and comedy and has a great visual and musical sense. I love:
- The Big Blue
- The Professional
- The 5th Element
- La Femme Nikita

John Singelton, he makes gritty and attention-getting movies. I also like Steven Spielberg, his movies are mind bending and out of this world. Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez because they're willing to make a movie that will scare the sh*t outta me and I love them for it!!!!!

Wes Anderson...His movies have humor and emotion and just plain silliness plus the aren't mindless drivel. these movies have everything...action...comedy...love...romance...Bill Murray(most, anyway)
Richard Linkletter...ok so recently some of his movies haven't been so good(Bad New Bears, Before Sunset) the others have been classics( Dazed and Confused, SubUrbia, Slacker, School of Rock) He has tackled many genres and remains brilliant plus many of his movies feel like they put you in the action. I feel like I am at the party at the Moon tower in Dazed and Confused.

i dont realyl pay attention to directors anymore. but i used to like steven spielberg. he made movies like shindlers list, and indiana jones, and saving private ryan, and i think empire of the sun
