itel's core duo is the name of the chip, just like AMD has the athlon, the sempron, etc. Dual core is the technology in the chip, running two cpu's within one system. Other chips have this tecchnology, not just the duo, such as pentium D, core two duo, athlon x2's and the fx60 and 62.

"Core Duo" is a brand name for Intel's latest processor chip. Dual core is a technical term for a processor consisting of 2 processors on the same chip. All the chip manufacturers are making dual core chips now.

core duo is just what intel calls their dual core processor. They call there single core processor Core Solo.

Dual core is the technology of putting two seperate processor cores into one package.

ummmm....one is made by Intel. Thats really the only difference.
