It’s funny how every Red Sox fan complains about the Yankees payroll. The kicker is that the Red Sox have the second highest payroll in baseball. The Yankees spent 194,663,079 and the Red Sox spent 120,099,824, this is opening day 2006 payroll numbers. That’s only 74,563,255 difference that seems like a lot but isn’t the cost of living in New York higher then anywhere in the United States. Why can’t you Red Sox fans just say you got beat by a better team, because they scored like 50 runs in that 5 game sweep. On a side note, I’m a Phillies fan so I could care less about either team.
I didn’t sell my soul but I’m so glad these Red Sox fans are getting knocked down a notch man if I have to hear how great their team was (that was 2004), I may have to get a job at the post office so I can go postal.

As a fellow Yankee Fan, there was no need to sell our souls, I always believed we could do it. I never thought boston would have the lead for long. And the way it looks they wont get the lead again.

hahaha. Not I. Personally, I feel the ghosts made the trip with the team this past weekend. Maybe that's just me though. And in response to the other answer, they haven't spent a billion on the team. And currently don't have an All Star at every position as Matsui is still hurt and Melky Cabrera is still doing a fabulous job of filling in for him.

Billy Crystal did. Since Satan thought one soul would be good enough for 3 games, but not for 5, he also had to throw in his share of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Now the Diamondbacks will be replacing Bat Day with Pitchfork Night.

Fabio, you know, I got reported for improper conduct for personally addressing you in a question when I wanted to tell you that thing about Mike Piazza a week or two ago. That was crazy, just thought I'd share that. Go Mets!

BUT YES, IT MORE THAN LIKELY ENDED THE RED SOX SEASON THIS YEAR, BUT DIDNT THEY WIN A WORLD SERIES MORE RECENTLY THAN THE YANKS ??
