They did. It aired in 1998 and was a darker version of the original. It had a workable cast including people who starred in Twin Peaks, Picket Fences, WKRP and Fraiser -- but it just didn't work. My personal opinion is that without Ricardo Montaban as Mr. Roarke - it was doomed from the start.

I've never seen Old Yeller, can you believe it? But my dad had a ***** of a girlfriend that my brother and I called Old YellaHair, sometimes WarPaint - she fell into the lake once while we out fishing and my poor father caught hell because none of us could stop laughing. I liked Homeward Bound... and later Cujo.
