Technically Collosus died from the cure for the legacy virus wich was created by Strife who was not an alien but an imperfect clone of Cable.
Ord of the Breakworld ressurected Collosus in order to use him to develop (another) cure for the mutant gene. It is, as of yet, unrevealed who Ord believes will be resposible for the future destruction of his homeworld. (Actually i just read Astonishing X-men #16 and it is revealed that Ord believes Collosus is fated to destrot Breakworld)

His name was Ord, if you're thinking of the guy from Breakworld- but he wasn't responsible for Colossus's death. He managed to resurrect him then use him for experiments. Colossus originally died by injecting himself to save all mutants from the Legacy virus.
