My mom thinks that salt is bad for them. Any input?

Wild anilmals really cannot process salt. However, I think they would have to eat quite a bit for it to have an adverse effect. I don't feed any of my backyard animals anything salted. I just think it is better for them. Very nice of you to care about our small, wild creatures. Don't they give you a lot of joy watching them? :-)

My parents feed their squirrels and chipmunks and birds salted peanuts. They find that they like them better than the plain peanuts. I think it is a treat for them. They will enjoy it.... They also like it if you put a scoop of peanut butter peanuts inside. They will love it.

suck the salt off first. everyone's happy.
i think that's the best part of a salted peanut.

We always feed them unsalted in the shell.
