I have seen the free credit reports but never free credit scores. I know my credit card company gives you it for free on their web page but that wont help you.

I have not been able to find a site that will provide the score for free. However, if you apply for a loan with your bank, you can ask them what your credit score is. Just because you apply for the loan, doesn't mean you have to take the loan out.

Check My File offers a "free credit score" but it's not exactly an accurate score based on your credit. Its questions are fairly generalized and may or may not be what you're looking for exactly.

No.
You can get free credit reports, but the companies that score you (Equifax, etc.) don't tell you the score unless you pay up.

Providian, if you have there credit card, gives you updates on your score online. Its awesome, so you don't have to buy into all that bulls_t marketing 30 day trials. But you need a Providian account.

it doesn't give a credit score per se, but does, for free and depending on the state you reside in, give you a report on what accounts you have open, what you're in good standing with, etc. i went through it, and it looked pretty accurate. it is free of charge and included all 3 of the major credit agencies.

go to experian...I just got my free credit report and score...I don't think you can get a free credit score, but it only cost $5.00 and came up instantly. It is well worth it!

http://www.freecreditreport.com does give you a free report, but it signs you up for a free 30 day trial of their program. You can simply cancel your subscription and they will not charge you though. I think you can do it once a year or so through them.
