i'm planning on buying this curling iron but i don't know if it's any good, it's really cheap but i'm not planning on using it all the time.

I had good luck with Conair curling irons. Never tried Remington.
You can also try folica.com for reviews.
I think ceramic is best for the hair.

It is Okay, but it is not the best. If you are going to invest on something like that, make sure that you do not damage your hair by buying something that because of the price, the quality has compromised as well. That said, use Chi. I bought mine from ebay and I love it.
