DJTBC is right - sorry, friend.

Right now I'd take anything in the WORLD that's interesting! Plus, if people are on from all over the English-speaking world, it makes sense to keep the question general. Usually I do mention where I am asking or responding friom, where relevant.

INTERESTING!

I think I have received more answers on this than on any other question I asked!

Also, it seems like many are dissatisfied with TV these days . . .

Yes, I meant today, as in 2006. Otherwise known as "the present."

Only Prison Break and Rock Star Supernova are on at the moment, but 24, Lost and House will be starting soon.

I work full time, run a house and raise my family and I still can watch a show or 2 or 3. So saying that to the asker wasn't very nice.

Most medern TV is really bad; either typical and predictable comedies or reality TV. There's basically not alot of good selection out there for actual good TV programming. Add to that the fact you get 8 minutes of commercials for 22 minutes of programming, and you get alot less TV for the time you put into it.

My wife has found some good TV shows out there but most have been cancelled due to the fact that they weren't fitting the standerdized format(s).

I would suggests the tried and true method of "hit and miss" where you give a few shows some sampling, and then decide for yourself if anything is actually worthwhile.

But my opinion remains that there's just no variety on TV; just a few things cloned into too many copies spread all over, and too much commercial time.

Well, assuming you llive in the U.S., no there isn't very much to watch on TV.
I watch NASCAR and College Football when it's on.

Regular channels that I watch are PBS, History, Discovery, and some of Animal Planet.

When I want to "zone out", I just watch Hogan, Gene Simmons, Workout, Dog, or any kind of reality tv that strikes my fancy at the moment.

For comedy, I watch Blue Collar Comedy Tour, anything with Robin Williams, Mad TV, Two and a Half Men. There isn't even much that is funny on tv anymore, either.
It's just really limited, so what are we all paying for ?

I'm a huge fan of Court TV's FORENSIC FILES and similar shows on the History Channel & Discovery. If you have it there are also some excellent shows on History International & Discovery Times.

My interest in all things ancient has led to my daughter's interest in everything from Dinosaurs to Egyptian mummies.

This is a stupid question. There's plenty of stuff worth watching! Star Trek, pretty much anything on the Military Channel, pretty much anything on ESPN, baseball, ER, Investigative Reports, How It's Made, Judge Judy, The Simpsons, Seinfeld, Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, Extreme Machines, Modern Marvels
I can go on & on & on.

Veronica Mars! Great one-liners and a lot of double entendres -- sometimes I can't believe they get some of that stuff past the censors. There's a pretty good episode coming on UPN tonight at 9.
