Supported the Iraq War, but did NOT serve in Viet Nam.

Used racial and ethnic slurs on more than one occasion.

Did not support same-sex marriage although most likely a closeted homosexual.

Just curious.

Don't waste time trying to figure out why I am asking.

You are all making me LAUGH!!!

You are trying to guess who it is rather than giving a more general answer.

Interesting - it tends to show that people react to the political party and nothing else.

Read a bit more carefully, I would probably have worded it a bit differently, but not much.

No, I do have to re-word. Let's say "widely believed to be a closeted homosexual."

It's part of the thought experiment.

YOU are the guinea pigs!!! :)

I wouldn't care about the politician's veteran status. Many Americans do not serve, but that doesn't mean they should be without a say on matters of war and defense.

I wouldn't feel comfortable with a politician who used racial and ethnic slurs.

As for same-sex marriage, it would depend on why they did not support it. Their presumed sexuality would make no difference to me.

I am hoping your are actually intelligent and just trying to bypass bias. There is nothing wrong with supporting the Iraq war and not serving in Vietnam, just studying you can figure out the mistakes we made as a country and see we are doing the same thing today and this is happening while we have people in government who were alive during this time. Though i think the current crisis relates more to WW2. Same-sex marriage is wrong because you cannot raise a child in that kind of environment. They just can't be brought up right. Nothing wrong with civil unions, they get their rights. As for the slur part, I have no problem with stereotyping as long as you know you are stereotyping, example calling a miser a Jew or calling an Italian corrupt. I know that isn't true but it gets the point across and I can laugh at it because I don't mind when people stereotype me. I am not self-conscious. When there is hate behind the remarks that's when there is a problem and i don't know in this situation. What you described is what I hope would be a level headed politician. Again, I must say I hope you are not an idiot and are actually intelligent.

To your first statement - Neither did Clinton in fact he dodged it (or most politicians)
Number two - when ? and what was said
number three - Not everybody agrees with your life style and although he wants to keep the sanctity of marriage spiritual , he does agree with civil unions

Sounds like he'd fit right in with the conservatives. Limbaugh didn't go to Nam, neither did Cheney, and Bush of course was in the Texas Air National Guard then. You made me curious who you are talking about.

I would say you have just described a probable NEOCON politician. Good for everybody else's child to die but themselves or their children. Divert attention from their homosexuality by restricting others freedom. Steaming Racists, only tempered by the prospect of litigation. Yes your average NEOCON.

You're only asking about one politician? I thought all of them were like that.
