I think that SOAP might have a positive influence on Hollywood. It shows that over the top humor can attract an audience and a devout fan club...and by over the top I don't mean Will Ferrell or Adam Sandler humor, I mean original, poking fun at yourself humor. SOAP was real enough that it was not a comedy movie, but it was excessive enough to provoke a laugh. I think a series of this genre woudl be hilarious...I like the idea suggested by another user.... Boogers On A Train. And of course, each of the movies would have Samuel Jackson in them.... I'm laughing off my seat already.

None, in the long run. Of course, you will have the goofball who will take a snake into the cinema and I imagine that another one will try to take one to a plane.

The same when the Star Wars movies came out. You saw thousands of Princess Leias and Amidala's walking around. Yet, at the end of the day, all of them had to take their customs off and face reality.

Movies are a source of entertaining. Some are better than others. Some even question our existence and actually make you think. But they are movies.

If something changed because of this movie was the Internet involvement. Blogs, rumors, Internet surfer's input was used to make the movie.

The odd thing is that no matter the Internet Buzz, the movie is not performing. The surfers are staying at home and not surfing to the cinemas to support the movie they hyped.

Which means that when a movie is not good, it should go straight to video. As will all the sequels that this movie will generate. Such as: Snakes on a Plane II: The Revenge, Snakes on a Boat: Cruise Control, and my favorite The Chronicles of the Snake: The Plane, The Black Box and The Snake.

It may have a slight influence on the way movies are marketed. Since last year when "Snakes On A Plane" started showing up on the Internet, a lot of interest was generated for the movie. However, that interest did not translate into huge box office sales like everyone had predicted. The movie only made $15 million, which in retrospect is not a lot for the amount of attention that was given prior to the movie's opening. It could potentially become a DVD hit, so we could start seeing more satirical movies than before, or what could be serious movies marketed as a joke. I guess only time will tell.

I think the buzz success of Snakes on a Plane influences the way films will be marketed and publicized in the future. Folks were buying SOAP merchandise and talking about this movie before they even saw the trailer.

I actually think that people in forums might have more sway as to how the script plays out. I think more people will push their scripts online and more will be made into movies because a few people in an online forum think it would make a good movie.

I hope this isn't the case seeing as how poor this movie has done and hasn't lived up to the hype.

I don't think this film will have much influence at all. It will most likely be forgotten by the end of the year (it will probably be on DVD by Christmas).

It is so scary to think "snakes on a plane" will have any influence.

I am a little worried that crack pots and maybe terrorists will jump on this one. But.......I do not like snakes so maybe my fears are silly.
