It is not possible with an internet email account, you need to have a program (ie: Outlook) and set the function.

After sending the email check the sent items folder and if you didn't get an email back from a "mail daemon" then it went. There is not a way to see if the recipient has read the email since Yahoo Mail does not support receipts (a way to notify you when someone read the email) like in Outlook.

You want to know if someone received and actually opened up your email? Not on yahoo mail or any free email accounts.

you can't. besides yahoo email is really unreliable. half the time nothing is delivered.
get gmail and your troubles are over. email me at cssiscool@gmail.com and i'll invite you to beta test it.
with gmail you can use outlook express, eudora or any other pop3 email client. in these you can set up "read receipts" that tell you when someone reads your emails.
in gmail you can chat with others in your inbox. also you can use program to store files in your gmail invbox. many more are being developed daily
all of my emails go where they are supposed to when they are supposed to.
if your computer crashes while typing an email gmail will save what you have already typed into a file in your drafts folder so you can continue on when you log on the next time.

You can send an e-mail for you too as a hidden copy when you send an e-mail. If you receive the e-mail, the person who you send will receive too.

When you get the notification that your email has been sent, it only means it is sent, doesn't mean it reaches the recipient. You can still get a failure delivery message afterwards. You may assume someone has received your email when there's no failure report. However, whether the recipient reads your email or not, there's no way to tell until you get a reply or he himself tells you so.

If u don[t receive an email response from yahoo, it means that ur email was successfully received

If the e-mail wasnt sent to them you will get a notice sent back to your e-mail that will state that it there was a failure to deliver and why.
