The first digital camera I had was a Kodak. I found out the hard way the it only produced photos in the Kodak proprietary format and I had a devil of a time finding a graphics program that I could use the photos in... and I had to get a program from Kodak, just so I could download... really left a bitter taste over the whole thing.

If you are thinking of Kodak, make sure the memory it uses is standard and the FORMAT is standard... like .jpg or .gif.

I now have a Canon A-20 and am very satisfied with it.

Canon. I recently purchased a digital camera and was trying to decide between which brands to get. I was looking at the Kodak cameras but all their new cameras seem to be made of cheap plastic. Between the two I'd go with Canon. They seem to put out better quality products. I ended up purchasing a Nikon Coolpix2 with built in wi-fi.

Out of those two canon without a doubt. Kodak is notorious for being crap... I bought one and i bought it BROKEN, so i returned it and they switched it for anotehr broken one. At that point i should have just gotten a different brand but i got the same camera, functional this time, died out in about a year. I have an olympus currently, which is another very good brand and possibly cheaper than canon but just as good. However out of those two i suggest canon without a doubt.

Check out the Canon PowerShot A75. I have one and it does everything including videos that a more expensive Kodak will do. Also, no specific software is necessary to download and enjoy your photos as does the Kodak.

Definitely not Kodak. The support of their product stinks. I'm very happy with my Canon.
