It's the year 2006 now. So let it hit the Earth in 823, things won't change. 1183 years passed since then.. And i assume you're referring to another Earth since it is "going" there instead of "coming".. If the "other " Earth has evolved later than ours and the year 823 there is still to come, then who cares.

I heard of one coming from alpha system the first closes sun some guy calculated it was on earths destination he said when it was going to get hear but I did not listen to his radio communicaton. There was another one about forty years ago on route to earth time was set back one could use your own watch it would turn back as the mass approach the asteroid was deflected off course.
