Its all about publicity. There are some hollywood couples who have stayed married for a while but you don't hear about them cause they don't care to be in the public eye every day. Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, not married but together for 25 years......Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Philipe 4 years.......Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson like 15 years...... and so on. The people who get married and dump each other publicy are only looking to get in the medias eyes cause their careers are rocky.

I think it's because they don't value the meaning of "marriage" and/or they don't know what it involves and so don't have an understanding what marriage is. Many marry because (whether they are a celeb or not - but we'll just stick with celebs on this issue) of being infatuated with someone's looks and talents (and of course sex), yet others do so for publicity. In any case, marriage is not something to be dealt with lightly. It's a contract between God and the couple. When you divorce (or take marriage lightly) then they are breaking that contract with God.
As for tinseltown, anything goes and is the norm. Celebs are in the spotlight and are confused with fantasy and reality. Many love the attention, and whatever gives it, that's what they take. Now, it seems the norm to have a child, get popular over that, then divorce. So sad...for the children involved.

I don't know that it's as much weird as kind of sad, really. Celebrities really do live "under a microscope" with so much of their lives in plain view of the public. It must be hard for them to just go about their "normal" daily routine without worrying about being followed or watched. Probably living away from Hollywood, the way Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward do, is what contributes to a healthy, long-lasting relationship and/or marriage. Attempting to carry on the way ordinary people do isn't so easy when they are right in the middle of a town that's built on fantasy (movies, tv shows, etc). "Real" life and their working life probably get somewhat mixed up. And of course, isn't it so much easier not to try? But to just go on to another person and/or relationship?

The stress of having the show or being relentlessly hounded by the media, photographed every time they kiss, etc. has got to be damaging on a relationship.

It think its more because they get married for a certain reason and not for love and that is why it doesn't last. You can't expect to be married to someone forever if you married them after only knowing them for a matter of months. Hollywood is crazy.

I feel bad for them, they pretty much are prisoners. If they try to go out they will get mobbed for fans (or haters) But yes Hollywood couples are pretty weird.
