PA is a right to work State and therefore they can fire you without a reason. Since your situation does not involve discrimination (sorry, being foolish and not wearing the proper eye protection is not a "protected" class) you have no legal leg to stand on.
On the other hand, most employers will make exceptions to their rules if the employee is otherwise valuable.

I don't understand an employer that says you can only miss a certain amount of days when you are ill or hurt. They aren't medical professionals that can make those decisions. I suggest you contact the H.R. department and explain what happened and let them know you have a serious injury that needs to be addressed. If they won't work with you on this, contact the labor department in your state to see if that is legal. I wouldn't want to work for an employer who does not have a heart when someone is injured or ill.
Also, make sure you ALWAYS wear safety goggles when doing any type of work that can harm your eyes.

Please read your employee handbook first to see what it says about absences. Next, check into the law(s) in your state concerning employment to see what it has to say about that. Then also contact your EEOC agency to see what they have to say on the issue. Just keep in mind, if you are fired from your current job just believe that God will bless you with a better one. You know all things happen for a reason. IF they do fire you; just collect unemployment until you find another job. Good luck, I've been in your shoes.

Yes. If your company's written policy is termination after 3 excused absences then they can fire you. They may make an exception for the situation, but they don't have to.

Yep. Unfortunately, employers have the right to fire you for pretty much any reason. Unless your boss is a complete jerk, he/she should be able to bypass the max allowed if you have a work note. Talk to them. good luck.

Tell your boss what happened, get a doctor's note or have your boss call the doctor to verify your story!
I'm sure they can make an exception!

They can't fire you for that. If they do, you can take them to court. Call the EEOC office in your area to make sure.
