Whenever I try to play music or something that requires sound, it either doesn't play it at all, beeps, or says "Windows cannot find an audio device. Please try again (or something like that)." Also I have already tried to download the sound card's driver. I did that and the setup said it worked fine but there is still no sound. Furthermore I did a little research already and it said that I might need to download a chipset driver. So I did that too but IT STILL DOESN'T WORK!! I googled how to do it (but of course it didn't work becuase Yahoo! is WAY better) and there was nothing that could help. I have found several other cases on the internet but none with my sound card. My sound card is an SiS 7012 Audio Device. My chipset is an SiS 648. I have an Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2. The CPU is an Intel Pentium 4. Maybe my problem is that the monitor (where the speakers are) doens't have a driver installed, but I am pretty sure that it does. PLEASE HELP!!! I am so confused. =( =[

The only noise that it WILL make is "beep", "beep", or "beep". No it is not cussing but you know the sound that a computer makes when it is angry at you becuase it knows that it can't do it. It is my sister's computer actually, and it is getting her really mad cause she can't listen to iTunes and stuff. She can't even hear the sounds of her game. I mean I have a lot of experience with computers (including a sound problem LIKE this one, except that one was with the earphones) but never has a problem gotten stuck with me for this long. Except maybe once when there was this file called CA5646SJFX or something like that COULD NOT BE DELETED. I was really pissed off. Then I figured it out. But this one is SO much harder. I have tried EVERYTHING!!!

There are no speakers attached to the computer. The speakers are in the monitor. The sound card has drivers. The chipset has drivers. The monitor has a driver. WHAT COULD THE STUPID PROBLEM BE!!!

I don't think that the sound card is faulty because it worked fine before my upgrade to Windows XP, correction restoration to Windows XP.
