This question was inspired by my last question in which someone mentioned Roseanne's butchery of the national anthem.
Others that I can think of off the top of my head are Ashlee Simpson's performance at the national championship the other year, that Clay Aiken wannabe's giddy performance during the final episode of AI this year, and Milli Vanilli's infamous lip-synching disaster.
Are there any others that stand out?

OK let me start ith I love the Rolling Stones - but at the Superbowl? They are so old and wrinkly it was very scary. I was afraid they were gonna fall down and break a hip. They had their glory days it is definately someone elses turn.

I would say it would be a tie when Judy Garland was abroad touring and her prescription drugs (which she was dependent on) were comfiscated by customs and she was actually booed off the stage cuz she couldn't even put together the lyrics to "Somewhere Over The Rainbow," and when The Pussycat Dolls went on The Ellen Show last year. That was a train wreck!

I have to say either Rosanne Barr or Carl Lewis singing or at least trying to sing the National Anthem.
One of the cheesiest would have to be William Shatner "performing" Rocket Man. He doesn't really sing but says the words dra-matic-ally. He butchered a perfectly good song.
