He has sent me flowers but I go away in 2 days for a long weekend so I won't even get to appreciate them, and he owes me money which I can ill afford, and could have used to take with me.
I am furious. He doesn't understand why. Why not?

Yes, it is justified to be angry with him, he disrespected you by not giving you back your money and then he thought it would be a way to get out of the dog house to give you flowers. Perhaps he thinks flowers are the cure for you not being mad at him.

You have every right to be angry, he sounds cheap and it's pretty pathetic that he would send you flowers a few days before you're leaving for a trip, what? You come back to your home or office to dried stems?
