It is perfectly safe unless your OB tells you otherwise due to an underlying problem with the pregnancy. I swept, mopped, vacuumed, dusted, even raised my arms above my head (something old people tell you not to do cause it'll wrap the cord around the baby's neck... untrue) and both of my children were born happy, healthy and perfectly normal with no complications. The later in pregnancy the harder it gets to do the chores but that is what your husband/boyfriend is for! If you need help or need to rest then by all means rest! Just dont let yourself over due it when you are cleaning. If you feel tired stop and rest.

anything you did before you were pregnant... even running... is safe, its doing NEW things you didnt do before that would be a problem, so unless you never mopped and swept before, then no..its SAFE as houses.
i did aerobics through out mine, because i always had, doctor just said no abdominal stretching, and no high impact movements, other than that even carrying heavy things doesnt do any damage, we're wrapped up far too much these days..the only reason not to lift heavy things is cos you are already carrying a weight and you'll do your back in.

It's perfectly normal and safe for a pregnant
woman to do light household chores. Activity actually
help for normal delivery.

Total fallacy!!! Nice try though, if you were trying to get your man to do all the housework for once (and if that's the case, stick to that story!!).
Of course it's safe! Just be careful of the chemicals you use, wear rubber gloves, and have very good air circulation/ventilation while working.
Besides, a LOT of women get what's called "nesting syndrome" right before they deliver - they clean EVERYTHING in sight. I remember scrubbing my kitchen floor on my hands & knees only days before my son was born!!!

As long as you aren't on doctor-ordered bed rest you should be okay. But take it slow.
I know when my cousin was pregnant, and when my mom had a really bad injury, supposedly the worst chore was vacuuming. Apparently, it's very strenuous.

Women used to plow fields while they were pregnant. As long as you feel fine, you can do all the things areound the house you need to.

Yeah, just don't lift anything over 15 pounds and be careful about the kind of fumes you're breathing in (from cleaners), but otherwise, as long as you don't overdo it, you're just fine. Although, you might use it as an excuse to get your hubby to help out more. ;)
